So I wanted to get a new piercing today. Unfortunately I am the only piercer at the shop right now. So I had to go outside my shop family to get the piercing that I wanted. As you know when ever you look for service in an industry that you work in, you are even more critical of where you go. So I looked at almost every shop around town and came across Apogee in OB. From the very first phone call, Mija answered the phone, she was super cool and took the time to answer all my questions and made me feel very comfortable before I even got there. Now working for another shop and going to get work done somewhere else can be sketchy at time to say the least. There are time when some people in this business are less than welcoming when they find out your from another shop. I walked in the door and Mija remembered me from our call. I thought that was way cool, BTW what a sexy name. Instantly she knew I was from another shop and made me feel even more welcome like I was part of their family. The shop looked so cool inside. They had all kinds of different piercing art and rituals hanging up from all over the world. Incredibly clean shop as well. We have all seen the places that make you a little nervous, but these guy have their act together and the place is pristine. I met Luis, who was to be my piercer. Right away he was all smiles and ” nice to meet ya”. He took me back for the piercing. There were about three people waiting to get pierced but Luis was every bit as meticulous as I would have been. He did not rush just to get to the next customer. I was impressed with everything from how clean and sterile his setup was to his technique. It was really cool to watch another piercer work. He really went the extra mile to make sure everything about my piercing was perfect before he did it. With 13 years experience I’m sure I could learn a few things from Luis. Overall great guy and piercer. Super calm and professional the whole time. The piercing came out absolutely PERFECT. At the risk of loosing business at my own shop I have to give these guys my highest recommendation and my up most respect. Shops like this really make me excited and proud to be apart of this industry. I’ll definitely go back just to hang out if nothing else.
